Is it really December?

DTC Jr:

- We're doing it! (And still having a good time.)

- Great session!

DTC Sr:

- Spent some time recapping

- Seemed to solidify a couple of solid paths we could take

- Now about fleshing each out and choosing which is best

Jr:

Chava was part of the group today, which made 7! (Gio, Tony, Ole, Alex, Jaime, Alfonzo, and Chava.)

Zip-Zap-Zop

Given the upcoming holidays and the start of my rehearsal schedule, we will only have this week and next week to work, before we take a brief break for the holiday. It seems Narsedahlia will be away as well, so it works out for everyone.

We started out with a couple of warm-up games of "Zip-Zap-Zop." They have their version, then we played mine. It amazes

me how much they enjoy the game, even though they've probably played it so many times in the past. But they are definitely in it to win it and I can't wait to see how that competitiveness translates into the work!

I promised them I would give them the last 15 minutes to play whatever game they wanted, so we got to work.

"Jumps"

The story we have been working on was summarized, and we used "Jumps" to help flesh out the first scene. To my surprise, Alex and Tony really began to get into the action and before I knew it, Jaime was jumping in as well. I tried to stay out of it as much as possible so I could hear and see what was happening, encouraging them to keep moving forward.

I'll have to admit, it seemed a little chaotic as everyone else that wasn't on stage was distracted and not trying to focus on the work that was being presented, but I should have some exercises to help with this in the future. I allowed it and was happy with the progress made overall.

Sr:

We did not have access to our original brainstorm list from last week and had to rehash our thoughts, but I believe we got pretty close. In the end, we seemed to have two different story lines that we could use for the show, but were unsure as to what direction we wanted to take. The discussion was great and after racking our brains for about an hour and a half, we left it where it was, and decided to pick things back up for next week, so we could have a little separation and time to reflect on what we wanted to do with this project. I was very happy with their work!
