DTC Jr. showing up for the win!
- all six showed up for DTC Jr. and we had a great session
- went back in to our story and put it up on "the boards"
- had some time at the end to play a game of "Zip-Zap-Zop"
- for the most part, everyone was on board to contribute to the story
- DTC Sr. couldn't make it this week, but I hope to see both groups next week
We had an excellent session with DTC Jr. this week. Everyone was back from the break and we were able to hear about
Alfonzo and his brother's vacation to Guerrero, Mexico, over the break. Apparently, they were there for three weeks and hunted an iguana with a sling shot!
We got right into the work and I asked them to help me
recount the story we had been working on, so we could write some notes on the board and take some pictures with our phones, so we wouldn't forget from here on out. Everyone was pretty good about contributing to the story we had created, and mostly on the same page about what we had constructed prior to the break.
I let them know about the "Tampa Bay Theatre Festival" and
how I was hoping we could submit our script before the deadline to see about getting accepted. I believe the boys were intrigued at the concept of competing and performing at the Straz Center. Oh yeah, and of FWSH taking care of their dinner if and when we were to compete.
Before I knew it, we had written up four boards of notes and 45 minutes had already passed. But we were able to get the whole skeleton of the story up on those boards, and proceeded to picking a game to play. Remarkably enough, they had organized themselves into picking one of three games through a democratic process and in the end, "Zip-Zap-Zop," their version, won out.
We look forward to casting the show next week and fleshing out the skeleton using improvisational exercises next week!
